There are a nice number of Google AdSense publishers, those who monetize their web site with Google AdSense ads, complaining over the past several days about fluctuations in their AdSense metrics. Not just weird sporadic revenues and earnings but also pageviews and click through rates on ads. You can see the complaints at WebmasterWorld and also throughout the Google AdSense Help forums.
Here is the tweet:
They have nothing to do with each other.

Well, nothing directly related to each other. But if your site that you monetize with Google AdSense has taken a hit with this latest Google algorithm update and your traffic to your site dropped 75% or so, of course that will impact your pageviews and earnings with Google AdSense. But as Danny is saying, they are not directly related. Google AdSense and Google Search teams to not talk to each other.
So while a drop in rankings in core search can hurt your traffic and thus your ad revenue, they are not directly related. Meaning, the core algorithm update is not part of the Google AdSense earnings algorithms.
